captured. love and life.

On Wednesday, we had the incredible, incredible (did i mention that it was incredible?) experience of having Carl Zoch and Amy Seeley photograph us. We did this because we needed some updated pictures of us for our adoption profile (which is the little book that birth moms look at if they are considering you).  Carl and Amy were so kind and made us comfortable at once. They listened to all of our ideas of just doing things we normally love to do (dance, drink coffee, read aloud) and then somehow they were able to just disappear and give freedom for steve and I to completely be ourselves. I feel like i could write a book about what a special experience this was, but maybe i should just let the pictures speak for themselves:

I always feel like so many people describe us as "high school sweethearts" because we met when we were fifteen. I know its just a term but i really dislike it because it makes me feel like we could be summed up by letter jackets and heart doodles of steve's name in my notebook. But our relationship is so vastly more than that...we have experienced so many hardships like the death of my father, major health issues and me almost throwing our marriage away. To me these pictures not only convey sweetness and joy, they convey a deep passion and unconditional love that God has allowed us to experience.
In these pictures I can see all that God has brought us through and I am so thankful for that.

Thank you Carl and Amy, for giving us one of the greatest tangible gifts we could have recieved. We are truly honored to have you as friends.

thank you all for reading and looking, wish i could show you all 200, but then you would want to kick me.

oh yes, and if you'd like to see more, Carl blogged here

p.s. should you for some reason share these photos. please link everything back to carl and amy. they are artists and do not deserve to have their art stolen. thank you.

  8. These photos are extremely touching. Usually "couple" photos seem staged and forced. But you can see the love you two have jumping out of these pictures. Very inspiring that true love can exist.

  10. These pics truly capture who you two are together. I think my favorite is the one in front of the truck. Not sure why exactly...it's just cool. And of course I love the ones with the dogs too! Oh, and of dancing, and...

  13. These are beautiful. I don't like that label either. If anything you two are pretty lucky to meet so early in life. I would have loved to have met my partner that early, it would have saved me from a lot of hardships. I hope your adoption happens soon for you two...I can see the kiddo playing by the dog on the floor. XO

  14. Lady, these photos are stunning, and the love you and Steve have for each other really shines through. Also, I know it's beside the point, but I am truly coveting each and every thing you are wearing in these photos - that perfect little crochet dress in particular! And your home is gorgeous.

Thanks for making my heart do little backflips!
