Anthropologie and Vintage

Anthropologie has some really lovely clothes. But a lot of the elements that make their clothing so pretty are from vintage inspiration. There's nothing wrong with this since its hard to find any bit of fashion that isn't referencing something. But I wanted to do a little experiment to see if i could find some vintage pieces on etsy similar to anthropologie's pieces. With a little creativity and searching, you can usually find something vintage that will be nicer to your wallet, more interesting and one of a kind. (plus you're supporting a small business owner :)

lovely things


I just discovered the beautifulness that is jenna rose handmade. A company that provides hand illustrated screen printed home accessories. I love the simplicity of her designs. and also think these pillows or tea towels would make lovely christmas gifts for just about anyone.

A Cocktail Party

Donna's Dress Shop had her annual Cocktail Party this past saturday. This was my first year being able to attend and I was so excited to take this dress out on the town! 

 My lovely friends Jen and Danielle came over early and tried on a bazillion dresses and chose these 2, Danielle's (the one on the right) is now in the shop


goofy ladies :) 
We drank yummy pink champagne...
this is the back of Donna's Dress...it was incredible. 
we tried on lovely dresses... i purchased the black dress on the left: a Suzy Perette! 

And Donna Even thought up this great picture area, inspired by 1920s fair and event photos like the one above (i had to get in another shot of Donna's dress :) 

It was such a great night. my favorite dress to see in person was this one:

I love that its almost time for christmas and new years parties. Its so fun to fill the shop with satin and sparkles and lace.

The Clothes Horse in Adelaide's Homesewn







I was thrilled to see that Rebecca of the clothes horse blog purchased this dress, because I knew there was hope that I would get to see it on her :). Doesn't she look incredible in it? i love how it shows off her tattoos. She has a really inspiring fashion blog, and mixes in lots of vintage pieces...you should go have a peek.
