The Softer Side of the 1970's

let's be honest, when a lot of people hear "1970's," visions of huge pointy collars and super thick polyester come to mind. What I have come to realize is that there is a softer side to the 70's: especially these fun little lightweight dresses. They are so comfy/easy to wear and perfect for these hot days we are having in kansas city. this is one of my favorites, with its bow neck collar, smocked waist and pretty plum and green botanical print.
thanks so much for reading
i really do appreciate all your comments,

  3. You're right, I don't usually thing of "soft, floral" when I think of the 70's. This is a beautiful dress.

  4. I have a couple dresses like that, and they have great color schemes. That dress looks terrific on you, and I love your porch! (And your hair is helping fuel my current haircut dreams/inspiration!)

  5. Oh I know what you mean. I do love those lightweight poly blend 1970s dress they always seem so perfect for summer. Polyester is generally a cringe worthy word among folks, but it can come in all different weights and textures!

  8. i unapologetically love 70s fashion. polyester and disco were mere drops in the bucket. the 70s were a wealth of fashion references to the victorian and edwardian eras as well as the 30s and 40s, not to mention the multicultural styles that grew in popularity. it was an incredibly rich time for style (and music and film). omigosh, don't get me started ;)
